The trust relies solely on donations and grants to fund its operations.
The trust is independent of any arm of government and as such does not receive any ongoing government funding. A function of the trust is to raise money so that it can carry out its functions with financial independence.
No matter how big or small your donation is, it will go towards the operation of the trusts functions and its aim to protect, preserve and improve the ecology of the Lakes and Coorong Ramsar site.
You may wish to make a one-off donation to the Trust to support its activities. Alternatively, your or your organisation, may be able to provide financial sponsorship towards a specific project or ongoing function.
Activities and projects may include: -
- Maintaining a repository for all environmental data and research outcomes;
- Prepare an annual “State of Our Estuary” report;
- Providing independent, impartial scientific advice on the state of the Coorong to stakeholders;
- Monitoring and document environmental flow outcomes;
- Coordinate and implement a comprehensive water quality monitoring program;
- Funding of supporting administrative staff including the Executive Officer.

The trust also welcome contributions of an in-kind nature to support its functions. This support could be through volunteering, community science or outreach, research, land access or lending equipment to aid in the ongoing monitoring and research identified as required by the Trust.
